Antifascist zone!

In a night of action in Glasgow’s West End, antifascists put up dozens of posters and dropped two banners; one over the M8 (FUCK NAZIS) and one on Woodlands Rd (Dinnae Be Fash).

The text on the poster reads:

Antifascist Zone – We have recently noticed increased neo-nazi activity in and around Glasgow. This includes stickering and graffiti, increased recruitment efforts, attempts to infiltrate demonstrations, and a recent assault in Erskine.

We know this represents a small minority of pathetic, hateful wee guys. We want to remind them that these are our streets, our neighbourhoods, and their shite won’t go unopposed.

We call on the antifascist comunity in Glasgow to mobilise, to support antifascist initiatives and demonstrations, to counter nazi efforts to lay claim to public spaces, and to organise your own forms of antifascist resistance.

Intervention/Banner Drop in Solidarity with Alfredo Cospito

On 04/12, as part of the International Week in Solidarity with hunger striker Alfredo Cospito (https://enoughisenough14.org/2022/11/28/we-wont-allow-the-murder-of-alfredo-cospito-on-hunger-strike-sive-october-20-2022-call-for-a-week-of-action-from-november-28-until-december-5/), anarchists intervened at a free screening at the Glasgow Autonomous Space to inform those attending of Alfredo’s hunger strike and struggle against the 41bis prison regime. Some of the comrades attending helped drop a solidarity banner in the South Side.

Banner Drop – Free Claudio Lavazza!

Claudio Lavazza has faced over 118 years of incarceration for a life spent at the heart of armed anarchist struggle in Europe, including involvement with the Proletari Armati per il Comunismo in Italy in the 1970s, and a number of expropriations from state and capitalist targets.

The comrade, according to French law, has been eligible for release since the 11th of December 2021 with the completion of 25 years of imprisonment, as his sentences should have been merged. However, as we have often observed in recent years, a regime of exception applies for political prisoners, for those who, like Claudio, remain unrepentant in their anarchist ideas, continuing the struggle in the cells as they did in the streets.

So, on the 17.05.2022, the day that the comrade’s appeal for release is going through court in France, we dropped a banner in solidarity on Eglinton St. in Glasgow.

Banner Drop/Solidarity Call for Anarchist Prisoner Toby Shone

On the 5th of May 2022, a banner was dropped over the Kelvin in solidarity with anarchist prisoner Toby Shone, facing a Serious Crime Prevention Order in a hearing tomorrow, an extremely dangerous precedent for the political and legal targeting of the anti-authoritarian milieu.
 
The banner reads:
SOLIDARITY TO ANARCHIST PRISONER TOBY SHONE
No politically motivated Serious Crime Prevention Orders
FREEDOM NOW
 
We call on all anarchists and anti-authoritarians in the area to support the solidarity demonstration, 6/05, 08:30, at Bristol Crown Court.

Banner in Solidarity with the 3 Arrested Comrades in Greece

On 24.02.22, anarchists in Glasgow dropped a banner in solidarity with the 3 comrades who were arrested in Greece on 08/02, and are now being charged under the anti-terrorism law for the constitution of the armed group “Organisation Anarchist Action” following an attack on the Foundation for National and Religious Reflection (IETF).

Banner Drop – No War but Class War

As a reflex response to the escalation of conflict in Ukraine, we dropped a banner on Great Western Rd. on 24.02.22, with the inscription “SOLIDARITY WITH THOSE AFFECTED BY & STRUGGLING AGAINST INTERSTATE VIOLENCE –  NO WAR BUT CLASS WAR”.

Banner Drop for Alexis Grigoropoulos on the 6th of December [EN, GR, Gaelic]

‘A bullet in the heart of Alexandros to close the circle of the statist machine’s omnipotence. A bloodstain on the Messolonghiou pedestrian street to open the circle of rebellion that wrecked the legal order and sowed chaos and anarchy in all cities throughout Greece.’- Nikos Romanos, Requiem for a Journey of No Return.

As of today, 6/12/2021, it has been 13 years since the Greek state murdered the anarchist Alexis Grigoropoulos. Alexis was shot by two cops, E. Korkoneas and V. Saraliotis, in the neighbourhood of Exarcheia, following minor clashes with the police. As soon as the news of Alexis’s murder broke, a spontaneous insurrection began. Protests, riots, expropriations and occupations of public buildings were but some of the collective expressions of rage. Despite the attempts of state and capital to depoliticise the murder, we must not forget that Alexis was killed because of his political beliefs – he challenged in practice the authority of the police and, by extension, that of the state. This is the violence faced every day by those whose existence the state deems undesirable, those who are a threat to their social order.

13 years later, the spirit of the December revolt is alive in the resistance of the Anarchist/Anti-Authoritarian movement. As anarchists, we stand in solidarity with all insurrections against the state apparatus worldwide, present and future. Our struggles take place in our streets and neighbourhoods, in our workplaces, schools and universities. We will reclaim our space and our lives.

Σήμερα, 06/12/2021, έχουν περάσει 13 χρόνια από τη δολοφονία του αναρχικού Αλέξη Γρηγορόπουλου. Ο Αλέξης πυροβολήθηκε από δύο μπάτσους, τον Ε. Κορκονέα και τον Β. Σαραλιώτη, μετά από μικροσυγκρούσεις στη περιοχή των Εξαρχείων. Μόλις κυκλοφόρησε η είδηση της δολοφονίας του Αλέξη, μια αυθόρμητη εξέγερση ξεκίνησε. Πορείες, συγκρούσεις, απαλλοτριώσεις και καταλήψεις ήταν μερικές από τις συλλογικές εκφράσεις οργής. Παρά τις προσπάθειες κράτους και κεφαλαίου να αποπολιτικοποιήσουν τη δολοφονία, δεν ξεχνάμε ότι ο Αλέξης πέθανε λόγω των πολιτικών του πεποιθήσεων – αμφισβητούσε έμπρακτα την εξουσία της αστυνομίας και, κατ’επέκταση, αυτή του κράτους. Αυτή είναι η βία που αντιμετωπίζουν καθημερινά εκείνα που το κράτος κρίνει ανεπιθύμητα, εκείνα που αποτελούν απειλή για τη τάξη τους.

13 χρόνια μετά, το πνεύμα της Δεκεμβριανής εξέγερσης είναι ζωντανό στην αντίσταση του Αναρχικού/Αντιεξουσιαστικού χώρου. Ως αναρχικά, στεκόμαστε αλληλέγγυα με όλες τις εξεγέρσεις ενάντια στους κρατικούς μηχανισμούς ανά τον κόσμο, στο παρόν και στο μέλλον.
